Kmotrovství is an organization which supports the education of foreign children residing amongst us. The organization was founded in 2002 by members of the evangelical clergy: Joel Ruml, Nora Gregorová and Matěj Cháb.
Kmotrovství is governed by a board whose director is Helena Hromádková – currently the other members are:

The board of directors is responsible for the allocation of funds. We cooperate closely with other NGOs that assist foreigners. In such a way can we ensure that our funds reach their true purpose, namely to those with the biggest need. It does not matter, whether our beneficieries are asylum applicants, asylum holders, economic migrants or those, which do not currently have a status. We also do not favour any particular religious denominations. The important thing is that these people live in the Czech Republic and are raising their children.
Our organization deals primarily with financial support aimed at the development of migrants‘ children. These are for example music, sport, or other forms of development which are associated with education. Explicitely, we wish to promote their integration with Czech children through enabling them to gain access to the same things that Czech children do.
O.p.s. Kmotrovství aims at establishing a tolerant and understanding environment for both sides, specifically through: demonstrating the wealth of the Czech culture to migrants. We hope that incoming migrants will gain access not only to the economic sphere of our society, but also its cultural bases. The goal hereof is the breaking-down of barriers, as well as the building of common trust.
We currently deal (primarily) with the evangelical clergy, however have donors beside these as well.
If you decide to become a regular donor, you will allow a boy or girl to eat lunch at school, to play with others after school, to attend a school trip or camp. Your money will enable children to attend music lessons or basketball after school. Mainly you will let them “feel at home”.
In the tab “our children” you will find a list of our children and young people, which our organization supports. Currently we have fifteen regular donors, and support fourteen children and young people. One evangelical clergy has further chosen a secondary support mechanism: they have chosen a concrete person whom to support financially.
The final function of o.p.s. Kmotrovství can be understood as preventative. In considering the context of our country, namely ghettoization and extremism, our goal is to prevent any of this from recurring.
